The Colonial Period

What was the name of the First President of the US?

He was the first president – serving for two terms and unanimously elected by all 69 electors in 1789, a few years after he’d presided over the Constitution’s adoption. He’s also the father of the nation. He didn’t like slaves and he lives on the lowliest of paper currency denominations – the one dollar bill. So he’s popular, but less valuable maybe than the others?

George Washington – the man who lent his name to the seat of the nation in the District of Columbia- that’s who.
